What's on in our wild world

As creatives, we take inspiration from all over and we enjoy keeping our fingers on the pulse for everything in the world of arts, culture, food, music and travel. We like to share our wild world with those who have similar passions as us, or for those who just want to know a little more about our wild world.

Here in our journal space, we share some of the things we love, the experiences we remember and everything you need to feel inspired by our wild world. From reading about why Peonies are one of our favourite flowers, to hearing about a recent day out at a new local hotel, enjoy our stories here.

How to bring botanical style into the home

Updated: Sep 13, 2022

Avid admirers of all things floral and green; bringing botanicals into the home can be an effective way to style your rooms with a subtle nod to the outdoors.

We love the freshness that comes with filling your home with fresh florals, greenery and house plants but do also understand it can sometimes be a challenge to maintain this. Luckily, there are many ways you can breathe a sense of botanics into your home in a simple way.

Dinnerware Not just for dinner parties, selecting dinnerware that fits in with your style will help carry your theme throughout your home in an effective way. Carefully placing your crockery on display on open shelves will help to add the gentle touches without going overboard on a chosen colour scheme or print.

Accessorise in green

Even if your home adopts a minimalist scheme, there is always a place for accessories in the home. With botanics being a favoured style of the moment, many homeware companies have collections dedicated to the trend. Carrying through botanics into your accessories can be a simple way to achieve an outdoor inspired style in any room. We love this fern leaf set from luxury homeware brand OKA. Hand-sculpted in porcelain then painted and glazed to a realistic and bright leaf green. It offers both a decorative and functional addition to your home with that all important essence of the great outdoors.

Collecting characterful glassware is one of our favourite things to do. Car boots and charity shops can be a great place start your collection. If you're anything like us, you'll be able to source a selection in all shapes and sizes in no time. Displayed on a shelf against a window will allow the natural light to shine through to make a understated feature.

Get it printed Designer wallpaper and fabrics can offer a charming touch of a pattern. Many luxury brands offer an extensive collection of designs to choose from, so you'll be spoilt for choice when looking to make your final decisions. A firm favourite of ours, is the irresistible designs from House of Hackney; an interiors brand inspired by the sublime palette of the great outdoors and nature. It is at their house, where you will find an opulent collection of botanical prints to bring into your home. We're drooling over Bambusa, Limerance and Palmeral as our stand out lusts.

Houseplants House plants are a trend that we hope will stay here forever. We're discovering new favourites each week and they are a great addition to the home, with various shapes and sizes perfect for those blank spaces and corners. Ensure you do your research before selecting a plant for your home as many will be prone to different environments and will need a certain level of care to thrive.

Fresh Florals Filling your home with flowers brings that sense of freshness and a lease of new life. Colour choice can be key when selecting florals for a room which may have a bold style of its own. Keeping it neutral will allow your florals to stay subtle and become part of the room, or if you're looking for flowers to add a dramatic burst then pop of stronger coloured blooms can be a clever way to achieve this.
